Recovering Your Belongings
Dying on the Frontier doesn’t mean losing everything forever. Your belongings don’t vanish: they wait for you at the exact spot where death caught up with you. It’s the classic run back to your own body — you just have to make it there and reclaim what’s yours.
The death stash: where your belongings go
The moment you die, your character’s entire pickable inventory is moved into a hidden death container, which is kept in your account’s personal storage. To every other player the world looks empty — nothing left to loot at the place where you fell. Your loss is private: no one can loot you while you run back.
Almost everything goes into the stash, but there are exceptions:
- Credits (the premium currency) are never lost — they stay with you even after death.
- System and non-transferable items (things that simply can’t be dropped) also stay with you.
- Regular coins, on the other hand, drop into the stash like any other item.
If you died traveling light with nothing to lose, no stash is created at all.
A private marker on the global map
On the global map, right at the spot where you fell, a tagged “Your belongings” marker appears — a loot-bag icon. Only you can see this marker: it’s tied to your account, not to anyone else’s eyes.
An important detail — stashes live at the account level, not at the level of an individual character. That means one of your characters can pick up belongings lost by another character on the same account. And the markers don’t disappear on a timer: the spot waits for you as long as it takes for you to reach it.
Died again before making it back to your first stash? Nothing is lost — another marker simply appears on the map. You can stack up several death spots and visit them one by one.
Collecting your belongings: right on the map
To get your loot back, bring your party to the marker and select it — the same distance check applies as for other points of interest on the global map. After that, the entire contents of the stash move straight into your character’s inventory all at once, and you stay on the global map the whole time: no entering a location, no camp, your party isn’t moved anywhere.
Right after a successful pickup, the container is destroyed and the marker disappears immediately. You’ll get the notification “You recovered your belongings from the death site.”
A few practical points:
- By taking everything at once, you may end up overloaded. This doesn’t block the recovery of your belongings — it only slows down your movement speed on the global map.
- The system protects against losses: if even a single item couldn’t be moved into your inventory, the stash stays in place so that nothing is lost. You’ll collect the remainder later.
What’s ultimately lost for good
Recovered loot comes back in full — not a single item is “eaten” by death. The only irreversible cost of dying is gear wear: one equipped item (a weapon or armor) takes extra wear. Everything else you get back intact.
