Faction Task Boards

Want to join a raider gang but don’t have the reputation for it? Faction “Task Boards” are a stream of repeatable assignments that pay out experience, coins and — most importantly — reputation points. You can take them even without being a member of the faction.

What this actually is

There’s no separate board item in the game that you can “open” and pick an assignment from a list. Board assignments are handed out by a faction recruiter through an ordinary dialog — walk up, start talking, take the job. These are repeatable assignments: complete one, wait out the break — and you can take it on again.

Where and from whom to get them

  • Headhunters — a peaceful recruiter at the faction HQ by the “Antenna”. Assignments: “Bounty Board Contract,” “Beast Bounty,” “Trophy Haul”; and in the faction’s lands you may come across a recruiter offering a “Field Contract.”
  • Radio Rats — a peaceful broker at the faction HQ at the “Radar System”. Assignments: “Raid Board Job,” “Vermin in the Wreck,” “Raid Stock”; in their territory you can also pick up a “Field Raid.”

These are deliberately open boards: they have no prerequisite-quest requirements, and anyone can take them, including non-members of the faction. Other factions also hand out similar repeatable “jobs” through their traders and hunters, but it’s specifically the open Headhunters and Radio Rats boards that are the intended path to earning reputation.

Why you need them

You can’t join either raider faction directly: doing so requires the “respected” reputation level. The boards are the legitimate way to reach it. Each completed assignment grants +10 reputation with the faction and becomes available again after an 8-hour break. Once you’ve built up enough reputation, the recruiter will unlock the option to join.

What they usually ask for

A typical assignment is a hunt: for example, “Bounty Board Contract” requires taking out two bandits and pays 200 experience, 150 coins, and +10 reputation. Kill objectives aren’t tied to a specific map: you can track your quarry down wherever it naturally roams in the world — these are “open hunts” across the whole frontier.

Some assignments offer an alternative route. The Radio Rats’ “Raid Board Job,” for instance, can be closed out by clearing the bandits — or you can take the path of deception and jam the signal; different options pay different rewards.

How to track them

Assignments you’ve taken go into the quest journal in your PDA, just like any quest: with objective progress, status, and the break countdown. The game sends notifications when you take an assignment, advance a stage, or complete it.
