One of the major factions of Saint Lawrence Island is the Radio Rats, the most technologically equipped gang of outcasts, controlling the majority of the transport arteries.

Two factors ensure the Radio Rats’ control over the roads: an extensive network of camps and staging bases located outside the settlements, on the sites of abandoned military facilities and the remnants of underground infrastructure, as well as significant fuel reserves that allow them to use high-speed vehicles to raid groups of caravanners.

The bandits got their nickname because of their active use of military radio stations to maintain stable communication and lightning-fast coordination between their squads.
