Sharper Than Glass and Ice

17 December 2021

The Concept Art section has been expanded with new materials demonstrating the features of architecture on the territory of the former USA.

Some of these concepts were created at a time when so much for the game’s world had yet to be developed and shaped. At last, having opened the archive of materials, we are glad to present them to the dear community. Enjoy!

The selection begins with the art of a building in the Streamline Moderne style, widespread throughout Alaska. In large cities, up until the mid-nineties, small office spaces, diners, and all-purpose gas stations were built in this direction of architecture.

The facades of buildings in the Art Deco style often had extremely bright colors not only on the territory of the “Mainland” (where such a solution was a necessary condition for comfortable existence amid the snow-covered whiteness), but throughout all of America, forming a distinctive architectural tradition.

Developing the motifs of the pre-war USA, allow us to show you the refined concept of a nuclear-fueled off-road vehicle, which previously already appeared in one of our videos. Thanks to their high off-road capability, these vehicles were in demand among the population of the largest and most prosperous cities.

With the onset of the nuclear winter, while building temporary transfer points in the middle of the frozen strait, survivors used all the materials at hand, including snow and ice, erecting igloos. Often these “makeshift dwellings” became permanent homes, accumulating additional fortifications.

The selection is rounded off by concept art of mining equipment. In the rare mines that are still functioning even thirty years after the apocalypse, there are restored versions of such machines.

Traditionally, the publication of concept art precedes important news — and very soon we’ll share something very interesting.

We are continuing to collect applications for participation in the next waves of the pre-alpha, and we’ll be glad to see you on our server Discord.

Until next time, dear community!
